Artist Code of Conduct

At Blue Willow Entertainment, we believe great artists are more than talented performers. They are ambassadors for the live music community. Every interaction with venues, audiences, fellow artists, and our team reflects not only on you, but on Blue Willow and the independent music community as a whole.
By joining Blue Willow Entertainment, you agree to uphold the following standards.
1. Professionalism
Artists are expected to conduct themselves professionally before, during, and after every engagement.
This includes:
• Arriving on time and prepared.
• Bringing all agreed-upon equipment required for the performance.
• Dressing appropriately for the venue and event.
• Treating every performance, regardless of size or compensation, with professionalism.
• Communicating respectfully with Blue Willow, venue staff, audiences, and fellow performers.
2. Reliability
Venues depend on our artists to deliver exceptional experiences.
Artists agree to:
• Honour all confirmed bookings.
• Communicate immediately if an emergency affects their ability to perform.
• Respond to Blue Willow communications in a timely manner.
• Provide accurate availability and booking information.
Repeated cancellations, no shows, or poor communication may result in suspension or removal from the Blue Willow roster.
3. Respect for Venues
Our venue partners trust Blue Willow to provide professional entertainment.
Artists agree to:
• Respect venue staff, management, customers, and property.
• Follow venue policies and reasonable instructions.
• Leave performance areas clean and in the same condition they were found.
• Respect agreed-upon sound levels and venue guidelines.
• Never consume alcohol or other substances to the point that professionalism, judgement, or performance is impaired.
4. Respect for Others
Blue Willow Entertainment has zero tolerance for harassment, discrimination, abuse, or intimidation of any kind.
This includes, but is not limited to:
• Physical harassment or intimidation
• Mental or psychological harassment
• Sexual harassment or sexual misconduct
• Bullying
• Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic
• Threatening, abusive, or violent behaviour
Every artist, venue employee, volunteer, audience member, and Blue Willow team member deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and professionalism.
Any verified incident involving physical, mental, or sexual harassment may result in immediate removal from the Blue Willow roster and termination of any existing booking agreements.
5. Quality of Performance
Every audience deserves your best effort.
Artists are expected to:
• Perform to the best of their ability.
• Engage respectfully with audiences.
• Maintain a professional stage presence.
• Deliver the agreed-upon performance for the duration of the booking.
6. Social Media & Promotion
Artists are partners in creating successful events.
Whenever possible, artists are encouraged to:
• Promote their performances on social media.
• Tag Blue Willow Entertainment and the venue where appropriate.
• Share event promotions professionally.
• Represent Blue Willow positively online.
Artists should refrain from making public statements or engaging in online conduct that intentionally damages the reputation of Blue Willow Entertainment, our venue partners, fellow artists, or the broader music community.
7. Integrity
We value honesty, transparency, and long-term relationships.
Artists agree to:
• Represent themselves truthfully.
• Accurately communicate their experience and abilities.
• Be transparent about scheduling conflicts.
• Honour commitments made to Blue Willow and our venue partners.
8. Venue Relationships
Blue Willow invests significant time and resources into developing relationships with venues and event partners.
Artists agree to:
• Direct booking inquiries from Blue Willow venues back to Blue Willow in accordance with their Booking Agreement.
• Refrain from soliciting direct bookings from venues introduced or managed by Blue Willow.
• Support a collaborative partnership that benefits artists, venues, and the live music community.
9. Community First
Our mission is to Inspire Artists. Unite Communities.
Artists are expected to contribute positively by:
• Supporting fellow artists.
• Encouraging collaboration over competition.
• Building positive relationships with venues and audiences.
• Helping create memorable live music experiences throughout our communities.
10. Safety
Artists must prioritize the safety of themselves and others.
Artists should:
• Operate equipment safely.
• Report unsafe performance conditions.
• Never perform while impaired by drugs or alcohol.
• Follow all applicable laws and venue safety requirements.
11. Consequences
Failure to uphold this Code of Conduct may result in one or more of the following:
• Coaching or verbal feedback.
• Written warning.
• Removal from a specific booking.
• Temporary suspension from the Blue Willow roster.
• Permanent removal from Blue Willow Entertainment.
• Additional action as outlined in the Artist Booking Agreement.
Blue Willow reserves the right to determine the appropriate course of action based on the severity and circumstances of each situation.
Artist Acknowledgement
By submitting an application to Blue Willow Entertainment, I acknowledge that I have read and understand this Artist Code of Conduct.
I understand these expectations exist to protect our artists, venue partners, audiences, and the reputation of Blue Willow Entertainment.
I agree to conduct myself with professionalism, integrity, respect, and accountability while representing Blue Willow Entertainment.
At Blue Willow Entertainment, we do not expect perfection. We expect professionalism, respect, integrity, and a genuine commitment to creating exceptional live music experiences while helping us fulfill our mission to Inspire Artists. Unite Communities.
